I’m a believer in the importance of balance in life. In all things, food, work, play, relationships — especially in relationships — but it’s also become a big theme in how I approach capturing brands and designs. There’s a balance between taking full control over an image and allowing space for life to happen and capturing that.

10+ years of photography experience, ready to serve your ottawa based business
I started photographing weddings at age 13, and photographed my first one solo at age 15. Since then, I have taken schooling in business and advertising all the while growing my photography business. Sonia V Photography was established officially in 2017, but my photography experience began long before that.
Growing up with entrepreneur parents in the construction project management industry gave me an appreciation for running a business from a young age. My mom had me balancing spreadsheets when I was twelve and paid me to clean the offices early in my teens, and somehow my dad convinced me to get on a job site as a laborer in high school. Once you meet me, you'll see why that didn't last very long. I'm all of 4' 11" tall and barely over 100lbs. I'm smart, but don't ask me to hang drywall without help.

My Philosophy
I believe my primary role as your photographer is to capture your designs in a way that reflects the story of that project from the beginning to end in the best light possible.
Beyond just the before and afters, there's always more to the story. There are foundations that had to be repaired and pets that had to be accommodated. There are last minute changes that turn out to be perfect and textures and patterns that just match so perfectly.
I'm here to capture it all with you.
