Suzanne and Kevin’s retro-themed wedding at Lago Bar & Grill came with gorgeous views of Ottawa’s Rideau Canal and was such a fun celebration of two cultures coming together. Their day was even featured in Confetti Magazine (which you can check out here). Before we dive into all the details of Suzanne and Kevin’s wedding day, we want to give a huge shout-out to the amazing vendors who helped bring everything together and make it so special.

The morning began with the girls getting ready while dancing and rehearsing a TikTok routine to ABBA, they were laughing and the movement made for some really great candid shots.
Meaningful cultural details were included in the bridal look: intricate henna, bangles, and a delicate maang tika at her forehead, along with a veil that had intricate beaded edges. She paired these pieces with a more Western-style dress inspired by her Canadian upbringing. Each detail reflected a different part of who she is, and it all blended together so well.
During their first look for their retro-themed wedding, they requested some classic album cover poses for their portraits together, which added their own flair to their portraits together.

Now to the retro-themed wedding details, since music is one of the couple’s biggest shared passions, it tied their wedding’s vibe together perfectly. Guests signed a framed record instead of a traditional guest book and tables were named after their favourite albums, each displayed as a record. Even the welcome sign featured album covers. We loved seeing all these fun touches that made their wedding unique to them!

The retro-themed wedding ceremony and reception space included nods to their love of music along with plenty of florals, including a colourful arch that was later used as the backdrop behind the sweetheart table. Their guests were able to use a photo booth with a full floral wall, which made for a great spot to take photos, including one of our favourite shots of guests showing the henna on the insides of their hands.

This retro-themed wedding celebrated where they are, and the beautiful place they’re headed as a couple.
