One of my favourite things about shooting interior photography is seeing designers like Jessica, who are so talented at creating inviting spaces that function well for families. She designs homes with intentional details like optimal storage and hidden pantry space, like in this custom home which is meant to be her client’s forever home. I’ll take you through this project so you can see how Jessica makes the design flow throughout the spaces. But before we do that, here are the sub-contractors who helped make this interior design photography project in Pakenham a reality:
Design & Styling: JM Design Studio | @jmdesign.studio
Cabinetry + Millwork: McPhail Custom Cabinets
Flooring: Logs End Flooring | @logsendflooring
Hood Finishing: Roll Her Sleeves | @rollhersleeves
Countertops: TNT Granite Ottawa | @tntgraniteottawa
Photography: Sonia V Photography | @soniavbranding

Anytime a client’s pet sneaks past me when I’m shooting, I try to entice it into a shot or two. Cats are definitely less eager in front of the camera than dogs, though. Now that that is out of the way, let’s dive into this interior design photography project in Pakenham. Starting with the entryway. The flooring flows seamlessly into the dining room and up the stairs, while the subtle patterning below the stairs adds character and helps define the space. I captured multiple angles of this area to show off all the details and work from different businesses (flooring, design, wall finishes, railing, millwork, styling, etc).

This interior design photography project in Pakenham’s layout is best described in Jessica’s own words: “Behind the kitchen at Project Cedar Hill, a hallway connects the garage and mudroom to the laundry and primary suite. This small nook became an opportunity to create a seamless transition, merging practical pantry storage with the perfect bar moment.”

The brass knobs, faucet, shower head, and bathtub spout add warmth to this interior design photography project in Pakenham, matching the rest of the home. A floating shelf above the toilet keeps things practical. The light fixture above the bathtub is a statement piece that ties the room together.

The powder bath is minimal, but the dark green paint paired with champagne accents adds depth and the white countertop keeps the space from feeling too dark. The design flows seamlessly with the rest of the house, which creates a cohesive feel throughout.

For this interior design photography project in Pakenham, the living room is a strong contender for my favourite space because I’m a sucker for a stone fireplace and large windows. It’s just so cozy and inviting. I love using natural light when shooting interiors, and while my gear can handle dark spaces, there’s something special about natural light and shadow, like in the last shot. This space just feels like the perfect spot to curl up with a good book or play games with family. Exactly what you want from a forever home.

From the entryway and dining area, to the clever bar nook and pantry transition, the ensuite with its tiled shower arch and brass fixtures, and the dark green powder bath, this home is both functional and full of thoughtful design touches. Capturing interior design photography projects like this one is a great way to highlight the creativity, care, and attention to detail that goes into every space.
