This colour-filled wedding at the River House Winery, a brand-new venue, was packed with personal and creative touches. From the bride’s floral veil to a custom song written just for the groom, every detail was full of meaning. There were so many artistic details throughout the day that we were thrilled to capture, allowing them to remember all the intentional hard work that went into making their special day so unique.

In the midst of a Canadian winter, this December wedding took place in a cozy, tropical greenhouse while a snowstorm raged outside. Guests embraced the all-black dress code and kept the energy high, spontaneously breaking into dance throughout the day.

In the wedding niche, editorial photography is a stylized, posed approach to photographs that are directed and created by the photographer or creative director. They don’t leave much of the photograph to chance and take control of every element such as colours, posing, and background to create something specific. The reason behind the name “editorial” is this style of photography is traditionally accompanied by an article or publication in a magazine or online. Of course, that is an incredibly broad definition by itself, so when you see that description used in the wedding industry, you can safely assume it means the photos will have a magazine-worthy look and feel.

Documentary style photography is finding photographs instead of creating them. The photographer with this style will be watching events unfold in front of them to understand the narrative and then capture it in a way that documents that as accurately as possibly.
