Recently, I was searching Google for “wedding photographer Ottawa” and Google prompted me with suggested questions after the first few results. You know the suggestions I’m talking about? They’re usually really helpful. The ones that it suggested for me were: “How much does a wedding photographer cost Ottawa?” and “What is a reasonable amount to […]
In the wedding niche, editorial photography is a stylized, posed approach to photographs that are directed and created by the photographer or creative director. They don’t leave much of the photograph to chance and take control of every element such as colours, posing, and background to create something specific. The reason behind the name “editorial” is this style of photography is traditionally accompanied by an article or publication in a magazine or online. These two lovebirds had gotten married just a month earlier when I asked them to model for me right after moving to Ottawa. I had lived in Ottawa once before for about a year, but people didn’t know me as a photographer “from Ottawa,” they knew me as a photographer… from somewhere in SW Ontario. For only having 4 months of engagement to plan this wedding, I would say it was a hit. Leesha’s sister and maid of honour was cuddling with the dog in the morning and tearing up the dance floor in the evening. Her brother and his wife wrote a song about Paul (the groom) making fun of their short engagement and Paul’s great head of hair. All in good fun of course. They were a classy but party-hard kind of bunch, and I can now say I’m a fan of the black bridesmaid dress trend.
