These two lovebirds had gotten married just a month earlier when I asked them to model for me right after moving to Ottawa. I had lived in Ottawa once before for about a year, but people didn’t know me as a photographer “from Ottawa,” they knew me as a photographer… from somewhere in SW Ontario. So I figured I should find myself some beautiful models eager to show their love in front of the camera and take them for a stroll through some of my favourite spots in downtown.

This elopement is one for the books. The colour palette, the faux fur shawls, the sweet candid looks exchanged by family members. Believe me when I say this was a cold, winter day (technically fall, but who’s tracking?) and everyone was freezing, but dare I say, the love of these two really heated things up.
